Abstract: The monograph considers the issue of increasing the energy efficiency of ore mining processes in mines through the introduction of distributed power generation systems. The pumped-storage potential of underground water drainage is used as a source for generating power. A comparative analysis of various configurations of power systems for mine consumers, including “peak” pumped-storage hydroelectric power plants, with a scheme in which power is supplied only from an external power grid, has been carried out. The monograph targets electric engineering and mining students, specialists working in the mining industry and research institutes.
