Короткий огляд (реферат): This article examines the historical development of the mathematics department at Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University in Ukraine from its founding in the 1930s to the early 21st century. Drawing on extensive archival documents, oral histories, and scholarly analysis, it traces the department’s evolution through the Soviet and post-Soviet eras, highlighting the key individuals, initiatives, and institutional factors that have shaped its trajectory. The analysis reveals a consistent commitment to excellence in mathematics teacher preparation, research, and community engagement, despite facing numerous challenges and transformations. In chronicling the department’s past and present, the article illuminates the vital role of mathematics education in the socio-economic and cultural life of the Kryvyi Rih region. It concludes by reflecting on the enduring legacy and future prospects of the department in the context of ongoing educational reforms in Ukraine and beyond.
